– Technology exchanges to be held regularly and support to be provided on cultivating gas turbine experts and technologies
Doosan Enerbility will be collaborating with KEPCO Plant Service & Engineering Co. (KEPCO KPS) to strengthen its gas turbine services capability.
Doosan Enerbility announced on November 14th that it had signed the “Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening Technological Cooperation and Pursuing Business Expansion for Gas Turbines” with KEPCO KPS, a public corporation specializing in the power facility maintenance business. In attendance at the signing ceremony held at the Bundang Doosan Tower were key figures from the two parties including Doyoon Kim, Director of KEPCO KPS’ Power Generation & Safety Division, and Seungwoo Sohn, CEO of Doosan Enerbility’s Power Services Business Group
Upon signing the MOU, the two companies agreed to engage in the following cooperation efforts – cultivating gas turbine technical experts and providing technical support, cooperating on the scheduled maintenance of gas turbines and parts production process, forming a consultative body to expand the Korean gas turbine business, holding regular technology exchange programs and sharing case examples of improvements.
“By combining our gas turbine expertise obtained from the process of developing related homegrown technology with the maintenance technology and technical experts held by KEPCO KPS, we expect to be able to offer quality services that are distinctly different from that of other global manufacturers,” said Seungwoo Sohn, CEO of Doosan Enerbility’s Power Services Business Group. “We will do our utmost to contribute to our country’s energy security and power supply stabilization by continuously engaging in technology exchanges and cooperation initiatives.”
With the global gas turbine market showing continuous growth, it is forecast that the demand for key components such as the gas turbine and the gas turbine services will also grow. The gas turbine services business has the value of being a business that can be a stable source of ongoing revenue for a company even after the supply of gas turbines to the client.
