The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it would newly designate 1600 units in three locations, including Seoul Nokbeon Station, Sagajeong Station, and Yongma Tunnel, as an urban public housing complex.

This was designated to promote the ‘urban public housing complex project’, which provides benefits such as floor area ratio and quickly supplies housing under the public leadership for old urban areas that lack private redevelopment feasibility.

Meanwhile, these three districts have completed the district designation process by securing the consent of more than two-thirds of residents after being designated as scheduled districts on August 24.

Accordingly, after an integrated review, the complex business plan will be approved in 2025, and construction will begin in 2027 and be completed in 2030.

With this district designation, a total of 13 complex districts with 184,000 households have been designated across the country, and 6 planned districts with 117,000 households have been designated.

In particular, four of the complex districts with 3,000 units are in full swing, including completing integrated deliberation on complex business plans.

Meanwhile, after informing residents of the specific business plan, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport decided to withdraw the project for the Guri Sutaek candidate site where the participation intention rate was calculated to be less than 50%.

This is because, as in the previous notice, if the residents’ interest rate is more than 50%, follow-up procedures such as a planned district will be promoted, and if the interest rate is less than 50% or the opposition rate is more than 50%, it will be excluded from the candidate area.

In order to promote effective urban complex projects, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to quickly review the level of relaxation of local governments and urban regulations, inform residents of the specific business plan, and then check the interest rate and promote the project centered on candidate sites with high resident intention.
