Doosan Fuel Cell has devoted itself to improving corporate sustainability by fulfilling social responsibilities and enhancing ESG management.
Doosan Fuel Cell announced on June 28th, 2023, that it has joined the UN Global Compact (UNGC).
The UNGC is a special agency under the UN which was launched in 2000, and is the world’s largest voluntary international initiative that complies with the ten principles in four areas: human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. UNGC encourages companies to secure sustainability and social responsibility by incorporating the ten principles in corporate management strategies and operations. Now, about 20,000 companies in 162 nations are members of the initiative.
Doosan Fuel Cell has decided to build a sustainable management culture by complying with the ten UNGC principles and submitting a Communication on Progress (COP) every year to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“Amid growing considerations of environmental impacts in business, Doosan Fuel Cell’s participation in the UNGC, which is leading the transition to a hydrogen society, is very encouraging,” says Yoo Yeonchul, Executive Director of UNGC Network Korea. “We hope that this participation will help Doosan Fuel Cell achieve SDGs and improve ESG management.”
“For sustainable growth, we must secure global business competitiveness by fulfilling corporate social responsibility and upholding ESG management,” says an official from Doosan Fuel Cell. “Taking this opportunity, we will grow into a hydrogen fuel cell company that leads ESG management.”
Meanwhile, Doosan Fuel Cell, which publishes an annual sustainability report, was highly evaluated last year in ▲internal carbon pricing, ▲environmental reporting, ▲human resource development, ▲labor and human rights and ▲industrial safety, and was selected into the 2022 Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).
