Hyundai Tucson reaches production milestone

Hyundai Tucson reaches production milestone Enterprise

On Monday, the two-millionth Hyundai Tucson rolled off the production line at the company’s Nošovice-based plant, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC). This specific unit is coloured in Sailing Blue Pearl and outfitted with the 1.6 T-GDi HEV engine, now making its way to its soon-to-be owner in the U.K. This milestone highlights the model’s status as Hyundai’s most popular model in Europe.

Two million units produced at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech is a significant milestone for our global and also European top seller. Almost from its very beginning the car was designed and produced with the European customer in mind. As it has evolved to become a success story globally and particularly in Europe, it perfectly stands for Hyundai’s customer centric approach.

Hyundai Tucson reaches production milestone

From Nošovice to Europe

Tucson’s history at HMMC began in mid-June 2015, when the third-generation Tucson went into production. A total of 1,180,445 units were manufactured for more than five years.

The fourth-generation Tucson, currently in production, features a refreshed design, an upgraded interior, and an enhanced features package. In 2023, 244,495 units have been produced, accounting for approximately 70 per cent of HMMC’s total production. These vehicles have been exported to 70 countries around the world. In Europe, the majority of Tucsons are shipped to the U.K., Spain, Germany, and France.

Hyundai also expanded its powertrain options in the current Tucson to include hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines. Both alternative powertrains are in high demand – 2 out of 5 fourth-generation Tucsons sold in Europe are either hybrid or plug-in hybrid.

20th Anniversary Edition Tucson

To celebrate its two decades on the market, Hyundai has designed a special 20th Anniversary Edition Tucson. The special edition will come with unique interior and exterior finishes. Production will begin at HMMC in August.
